Things about testimonials…
We know testimonials make a difference.
9 out of 10 people believe customer feedback more than what a business says about itself.
I did some digging and found an interesting research that compared informational messages with testimonials, the former likely comparable to self-proclaiming greatness businesses tout.
It concluded that informational messages are more effective through text delivery, while testimonials are more persuasive through audio delivery than text.Â
The research suggests that the effectiveness depends on how involved or motivated people are on the subject. If people aren’t very interested, testimonials tend to be more effective than informational messages, and it’s even more impactful if you deliver them with audio.
Testimonials > Informational Messages | Audio Testimonials > Text Testimonials.
Intriguing? But wait.
Given that recruiters spend only 10 seconds on our portfolio website before bailing at the first encounter with an objection (pun intended…maybe), is it even a good idea to have audio testimonials, which require more effort?
Debatable.
But it will be more effective in impressing those who spend more time reviewing our content.
